Figures from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's 2025 Annual Traffic Report, which counted 142.7 million passengers across its airports last year, its third busiest year on record. Airport runs are the largest single share of what any New York car service does, and these are the airports we drive to every day.
Fixed price
In most cities a ride to the airport costs roughly what you expected. New York is different, because almost every way of getting around changes its price while you are in it.
A yellow cab from JFK to Manhattan has a flat fare of USD 70, set by the Taxi and Limousine Commission, but six charges sit on top of it: a 50 cent MTA state surcharge, a USD 1.00 improvement surcharge, a USD 5.00 rush hour surcharge between 4pm and 8pm on weekdays, a USD 2.50 congestion surcharge below 96th Street and a 75 cent MTA congestion toll below 60th Street, before tolls and tip. From Newark there is no flat fare at all: the meter runs, a USD 20 Newark surcharge is added, and you pay the tolls in both directions. App rides have no cap, so a wet evening or a run of international arrivals can move the price while you wait at the curb.
An NYC limo service like ours works the other way around. You give us the trip, we give you one price for the vehicle, and that price already includes tolls, the meet and greet and the waiting time. If the Lincoln Tunnel backs up, that is our problem, not yours. For two or more people it is often no more expensive than a cab and a tip, and for one person it is the price of knowing exactly what the trip will cost before you leave.
A worked example makes the point. Leave Midtown for JFK in a yellow cab at five on a Thursday afternoon and the fare is USD 70, plus USD 5.00 for rush hour, USD 2.50 for the congestion surcharge, 75 cents for the congestion toll, 50 cents for the MTA state surcharge and USD 1.00 for the improvement surcharge. That is USD 79.75 before a single bridge toll or a tip, and it is the same whether one person rides or three. The same trip with us is one figure for the whole vehicle, quoted before you leave, with the tolls already inside it, and the chauffeur loads the luggage and waits if the flight is the one that is running late.

Pricing
There are three ways to book us, and the right one depends on the shape of your day.
A transfer is one trip from A to B, such as Midtown to JFK, quoted as a single flat price for the vehicle. It is the right choice for airports, stations and any trip where you know where it starts and where it ends.
An hourly booking keeps the car and the chauffeur with you, waiting between stops. It suits a day of meetings, a wedding, a shopping trip or a night with several venues, where booking each leg separately would cost more and take longer.
A round trip books both legs together, which holds the same vehicle and, where the schedule allows, the same chauffeur for the return.
Within each of these the price moves with the vehicle you choose, the date and the time of day, the distance, and any waiting beyond the free period. Saturday evenings in wedding and prom season and the December holidays sit at the top of the range. What does not move it is traffic: once the rate is agreed, a slow tunnel or a closed lane is our cost, not yours. Gratuity is not included in the rate. The BMW 7 Series, the Mercedes S-Class, the Rolls-Royce Ghost, the Cadillac XTS and the Lincoln Continental, each seating up to four passengers with luggage. These sedans are the default for one traveler or a couple heading to the airport, a meeting or dinner, and they are what most people mean when they ask for a black car.
The Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Suburban and GMC Yukon Denali seat up to seven passengers with luggage, alongside the Lincoln Navigator, Lincoln Nautilus and Cadillac XT6. The right choice for a family, a small group of colleagues, or anyone carrying more than two large suitcases, and the vehicle most of our airport clients end up choosing.
The Lincoln MKT stretch in six, eight, ten, fourteen and twenty passenger versions, the Escalade limousine for up to ten, and the Hummer and Range Rover limousines for up to fourteen. The number that catches people out is luggage rather than passengers: two people with four large cases usually need an SUV, not a sedan, and a family of five with a stroller is far happier in an Escalade than squeezed into two cars. Who we drive
Most NYC car service trips start or end at an airport, but the people behind them are very different, and so is the right vehicle.
Early runs to JFK and LaGuardia, meetings across Midtown and roadshows that need several cars on one timeline. Most book a sedan or an SUV and keep the same chauffeur through an account.

Airports
Airport work is the backbone of any New York car service, and every airport has its own rules for where a car may wait and how long it may stay. We track every flight, so an early landing or a delay moves the pickup without a phone call, and the chauffeur meets you inside rather than texting from a holding lot. As a rule of thumb, leave Manhattan three hours before a domestic departure from JFK or Newark and four before an international one, and add time between 4pm and 7pm on weekdays, when the tunnels and the Van Wyck Expressway are at their slowest. LaGuardia is the closest airport to Midtown but not reliably the fastest, because the Grand Central Parkway and the bridges sit in the way. JFK served 63 million passengers in 2025, more than any other airport in the region, according to the Port Authority. Terminals 1, 4, 5, 7 and 8 are in use while the airport is rebuilt, and our chauffeur waits at baggage claim with a sign showing your name. LaGuardia served 33 million passengers in 2025 and is the closest of the major airports to Midtown. Its rebuilt Terminals B and C moved taxi and app pickups to designated levels, which makes a booked car that meets you inside more useful here than it used to be. Newark served 47 million passengers in 2025. There is no flat cab fare from Newark, so the Lincoln and Holland tunnels decide what a metered ride costs, which is exactly the uncertainty a flat rate removes. Our page on car service from Newark Airport covers Terminals A, B and C.
Teterboro, in New Jersey, handles private and business jets rather than scheduled airline flights, and we meet aircraft through our Teterboro transfers. Westchester County Airport is limited by agreement to four gate positions and 240 scheduled passengers per half hour, which keeps it quick and makes its flights fill early at the holidays.
Long distance
Not every trip ends inside the five boroughs. We run long distance transfers from the New York airports and from Manhattan to Long Island, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland and Washington DC, and each popular route has its own page with the distance and the drive time.

Where we drive

Before you book
If you are comparing companies to choose the best limo service in New York for a wedding, a corporate account or a family trip to the airport, these are the questions worth asking every one of them, us included. The answers tell you far more than the photographs on a website.
Ask whether tolls, airport parking, waiting time and any congestion charge are inside the quote, and whether gratuity is included or expected on top. Get the answer in writing before you pay, because this is where a cheaper looking quote usually catches up with you.
In New York City, black cars and limousines that pick up passengers are for-hire vehicles licensed by the Taxi and Limousine Commission. Ask for the license details and the insurance cover, and expect a straight answer.
Ask whether the free waiting period starts when your flight lands or at the time you booked, how long it lasts for domestic and international arrivals, and what each extra period costs after that.

Two sets of rules shape every car ride in New York, and both are worth knowing before you book.
Under the Taxi and Limousine Commission's driver rules, a black car or limousine is a for-hire vehicle that may only pick up passengers by prearrangement through a licensed base, never by a street hail. The penalties are heavier for drivers who break that rule in Manhattan below East 96th and West 110th Streets and at the city's airports. In practice it means two things: a driver who walks up to you in the arrivals hall offering a ride is breaking the rules, and a chauffeur waiting for you by name is exactly how the system is meant to work.
The MTA's Congestion Relief Zone covers Manhattan south of and including 60th Street. A private car pays a daily toll, USD 9 at peak with E-ZPass, while taxis and for-hire vehicles licensed by the TLC carry a per-trip charge instead: USD 1.50 on app rides and 75 cents on yellow cabs, green cabs and other for-hire vehicles. Trips that stay on the FDR Drive or the West Side Highway are not charged. It is one more reason to compare quotes on what they include rather than on the headline price.
A car service is only as good as the person driving and the person answering the phone. A changed flight at two in the morning should be handled by someone who can move a car, not by a voicemail, and a chauffeur who has driven your route before is worth more than any feature on the vehicle.

Seasons
The Port Authority's 2025 traffic report records the busiest month in its history in August, when 13.8 million passengers passed through the region's airports and 6.2 million through JFK alone, along with records for Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the year end holidays. Those are the weeks when the larger vehicles go first and the airport roads are at their slowest.
Spring brings prom and graduation season, when stretch limousines and party buses are booked weeks ahead and Saturday evenings go first. Book by March.
Summer is wedding season and Hamptons season at once, and Friday afternoons eastbound are the slowest window of the week on Long Island.

App rides at JFK have no flat fare protection, so the same trip can cost far more on a wet Friday evening than on a Tuesday morning.
Nothing you need to do. We track the flight from departure, so a delay or an early landing moves the pickup automatically, and complimentary waiting starts when you land: 60 minutes on domestic flights and 90 on international.
