When Point to Point Beats Booking by the Hour
Point to point and hourly solve different problems, and picking the wrong one is the most common way people overpay us. The rule is simple: if you know when the journey ends, book point to point. If you do not, book hourly.
A transfer to an airport, a station, a restaurant or an office where you are not coming straight back is a point to point job, and paying an hourly rate for it means paying for a car to sit somewhere you are not. A day with three appointments and an uncertain finish is the opposite, and booking it as four separate journeys costs more and works worse.
