For children, the question is seats. New York requires children under eight to ride in an appropriate child restraint in a private car under section 1229-c. For-hire vehicles are treated differently in the current law, and a bill to extend the rule to taxis and liveries, S9800, was introduced in 2026. We do not wait for the law: tell us the age and weight of each child when you book, and the right seat is fitted before the car arrives, at no extra charge. It is the one part of a children's birthday booking we never leave to chance, whatever the length of the drive.
For sweet sixteens, the question is control. Under ABC Law section 65-c, nobody under 21 may possess alcohol with the intent to drink it, and on any booking with guests under 21 our written policy is simpler still: no alcohol and no smoking on board, enforced by the chauffeur. One parent is named on the booking, the drop off addresses are confirmed in writing, and only that parent can change the plan on the night.
For adults, the question is the vehicle. New York's section 1227 bans drinking and open containers in vehicles on public roads, with an exemption for passengers in vehicles designed to carry ten or more people operating under a state or federal permit. That is why a milestone birthday that includes a toast belongs in a stretch limousine or a party bus, not in an SUV. If the group is small but wants a toast, the Escalade limousine for ten is the right answer, and it costs less than most people expect.
At every age, the vehicle itself should pass the state's checks: a current NYSDOT inspection sticker on any stretch limousine, seat belts for every passenger, and a driver licensed for the size of vehicle. NYSDOT's guidance for customers sets out the full list.

Planning a Milestone Birthday Night
A milestone birthday night is planned backwards from the last venue. Restaurants with a set seating time and clubs with a door policy decide the shape of the evening, so we fix those first and build the pickups and the travel between stops around them.
Allow longer between venues than the map suggests, especially crossing between Manhattan and Brooklyn on a Friday or Saturday night, and book the window to finish later than you expect. A night that runs an hour over is a good night, and it is easier to finish early than to extend at midnight. Send us the reservation times with the booking and we will build the rest of the night around them.
If the birthday person does not know the plan, tell us. We can collect them from the office, keep the destination off the confirmation they might see, and time the arrival so the guests are already seated when they walk in. The organizer gets a message as the car leaves the pickup, so the room can be ready.

Sweet Sixteen Limo Rules Parents Ask For
A sweet sixteen is a party for the guests and a booking for the parents. These four terms come with every one, and the same terms apply on our prom limousine nights.
One named parent
One parent books and signs off the plan. That parent is updated at pickup, at the venue and when each guest is home, so nobody waits up wondering.
Addresses in writing
Every guest's drop off address is confirmed before the night, and the car goes to those addresses and nowhere else. A sleepover address counts, as long as it is on the list.
No alcohol, no smoking
A written policy the chauffeur enforces. If it is broken, the ride ends and the booking parent is called. Every family hears this rule before the night.
A plan for leaving early
If a guest needs to go home early, the parent calls dispatch and we arrange it without ending the night for everyone else. The rest of the party carries on as planned.

Children's birthdays are the bookings where the details matter most and the drive is shortest. A party venue, an arcade or a matinee, a group of six to ten children and two or three parents: usually an SUV or a limousine with the right seats fitted, and a chauffeur who helps with the doors, the presents and the balloons.
Tell us each child's age and weight when you book, and we fit forward facing seats, boosters or infant seats to match, at no extra charge. The seats go in before the car arrives, so nobody is installing one at the curb with a line of excited children waiting. Seats stay fitted for the whole booking, including the drive home.
Keep the timings generous. Children take longer to load, and the party venue will not wait if the car is late. We arrive early, and we plan the drop at the venue's entrance rather than across the street. At the end of the party the car is back at the door before the children come out, so nobody waits on the sidewalk with balloons and a goody bag.

Children's birthdays come with their own questions. These are the four we hear most.
How many adults should ride along?
For a group of six to ten young children, two adults is a good rule, one for each end of the car. The chauffeur drives; the adults look after the party.
Can parents ride in the limousine too?
Yes. Adults count toward the seating, so tell us how many are coming and we will size the vehicle to include them.
Is there a seat belt for every child?
Yes, every passenger seat has one, and children who need a car seat or a booster get the right one fitted before pickup.
What if a child is carsick or upset?
The chauffeur pulls over safely and waits. Short drives and generous timings keep it rare, and we plan the route to avoid the worst stop and start traffic.
The chauffeur on the night. On a birthday night the chauffeur's job is to make the evening run without anyone thinking about it. They arrive early at the first pickup, help with the doors, the presents and the cake, stop where the photographs work, and hold close to each venue so the car is outside within minutes of a text. They do not hurry the group, and they do not change the plan without the organizer, or on a booking with under 21 guests, without the named parent.

Decorations
Balloons, banners and signs are welcome inside, and the chauffeur will help. We refuse only anything that blocks the driver's view or is fixed to the paintwork. Bring them with you and decorate at the first pickup.
Cake and food
Tell us at booking if a cake is coming, so space is planned and the cleaning terms are clear. Ordinary mess is expected and not charged for. Candles stay unlit until you arrive.
Music and photographs
The car is part of the photographs, so the chauffeur will stop where the picture works and the group is safely off the road. Tell us if a photographer is meeting you, and we will time the stop.

Tell us who is organizing, who is being collected, from where, and what they have been told. We send the confirmation to the organizer only, keep the destination out of any message the birthday person might see, and time the pickup so the guests are already seated when the car arrives. If the birthday person runs late, the chauffeur waits and the organizer hears first, so the room is ready either way.

Thirteenth and eighteenth
Teen birthdays run on the same terms as a sweet sixteen. Eighteen is legally an adult, but still under 21, so the no alcohol policy applies to the whole booking.

There is no meter on a birthday booking. Four things decide the flat rate, and all of them are agreed before the night.
The vehicle
A sedan or SUV costs less than a stretch limousine, and a limousine less than a party bus. The right size for the group is the cheapest comfortable choice.
The length of the night
We quote the booked window from the first pickup to the last drop off, so a dinner and home costs less than a night with four venues.
The date
Fridays and Saturdays, holiday weekends and December cost more than a weeknight. A Sunday dinner is often the best value of the week.
What is not included
Gratuity is not included in the rate, and trips well outside the tri state area are quoted individually.
